Description
KRAFTWERK 1 & 2
(1972 Vertigo UK compilation)
C: VG+ V: NM
The first two records showcase the electronic pioneers of Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider at their most experimental stage, supplemented with the drumming of the legendary founder of NEU!, Klaus Dinger.
The band themselves scored an early hit in Germany with the relentless drive of "Ruckzuck." Screaming feedback and the sounds of vacuum cleaners would eventually give way to the meticulously crafted electronic albums the world would embrace starting with 1974's Autobahn.
The second album finds them in proto-ambient territory, come to its full glory with the track "Kling Klang" after which they would name their famous studio.
This set is beautiful shape and a great way to acquire the first two albums which, by themselves (with the famed green and red traffic cone covers), generally cost as much for one as this double set.
