Kahvas Jute – Wide Open LP (orig. Australia STEREO Infinity SINL-934,030—1971, gatefold cover)
Recorded: mid-1970 ~ release date: January 1971. Running time: 41:00 (approx).
EXTREMELY RARE album by this rock band from SYDNEY—AUSTRALIA. An absolute classic heavy progressive rock album, and undeniably one of the best from downunder. The dual guitar assault of Dennis Wilson and Tim Gaze (only seventeen at the time), along with the exploratory bass of Bob Daisley (in the Jack Bruce style) and highly innovative drumming of Dannie Davidson, contribute to a superb selection of tracks. Every song is a sure-fire winner, with my personal favourites being ‘She’s So Hard To Shake’ and ‘Parade Of Fools’.
Dennis Wilson and Bob Daisley had previously been members of MECCA, the band that issued the ‘Black Sally’ single (Festival – March 1970). After relocating to the UK in 1972, Bob Daisley played with a number of well-known rock outfits (Chicken Shack, Widowmaker, Rainbow, Ozzy Osbourne, Uriah Heep, Gary Moore Band), but that’s another story!
Tim Gaze and Dannie Davidson played on the highly regarded TAMAM SHUD ‘Goolutionites and the Real People’ album (recorded May 1970), just prior to joining KAHVAS JUTE. Both performers have continued to be highly active in the music scene (refer PERSONNEL details below).
KAHVAS JUTE reunited on stage for a one-off gig at The Basement in Sydney—Australia, on the 17th July 2005. Dennis Wilson, Tim Gaze, Bob Daisley and a ‘new’ drummer Mark Marriott performed five tracks that originally appeared on the ‘Wide Open’ album, as well as some new material. This is currently available as a combined DVD/CD package entitled ‘Kahvas Jute Then Again’. The accompanying 12-track CD includes six new band recordings from January 2005 (studio and live versions).

M- : MY HIGHEST GRADE!!!! Vinyl is visually near perfect, No scratches or marks at all Some call this mint
EX+ Record has just a few faint paper sleeve marks that do not affect play. Visually they should be barely noticable. Very high gloss surface.
