ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This fascinating LP from Thorofon (ATH 259, German pressing, gray label, stereo) features a tribute to pianist Karl Robert Kreiten (1916-1943), a remarkable talent who was murdered by the Nazis in Berlin for criticizing Hitler. He studied with, among others, Claudio Arrau.
The few recordings that survive of his artistry are gathered here and include:

Frederic Chopin: Nocturne in C-sharp minor Op. posth. (rec. 1934)
There are insightful liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by Hartmut Lück, printed in German only. The cover art reproduces a detail from Walter Ophey's "Rheinufer mit Rheinhalle in Düsseldorf"
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is NM-. Aside from slight bumping at corners, really there are no flaws to speak of and the album appears almost as new – overall, a superb collector's copy.
The condition of the LP is near-MINT and playback is superb – overall, a truly fine collector's copy.
