Description

In 1984, EMI released a box set of 13x 7" singles depicting Kate's 11 UK singles released so far, her live EP and the French / Canadian-only release "Ne Tenfuis Pas". It was assumed at the time that though the vinyl singles themselves were authentic re-presses, the accompanying sleeves produced to house them in were of inferior quality to their original counterparts released - printed in thin paper and not the card of the originals. It was also suspected that the original artwork had probably been photographed for the re-prints, rather than run-off of the original artwork, as the images were less sharp. The one exception in the box set was 1982's "There Goes A Tenner", which was the original 1982 release. Included from EMI leftovers ("Tenner" was Kate's first single to not break the top 75 in the UK, hence the overstocks!)
For sale here we have the reprinted sleeves of 11 of the 12 re-prints. Printed but not used former EMI stock, donated to one of the fan club conventions which is where I acquired them. The sleeves missing are "The Man With The Child In His Eyes" and "There Goes A Tenner", as I mentioned - this one wasn't in need of a reprint!
All sleeves have been stored flat in a heavy book for over 30 years, are in excellent condition. No folds, tears or stains to any. Some minor corner scuffs here and there. The LIVE EP sleeve is glossier and thicker than the others, I can't explain why but I'm pointing it out here and now anyway.
