Description

A really nice copy of a hard to find Box Set of Kathleen Ferrier, Decca AKF 1-7, a beautiful 7 LP collection with a stellar booklet. This vinyl could not look any nicer, but there is some background noise on parts of it, especially the earlier material. Here's the thing; thse are old recordings and I have a hunch the noise is the original source material, I just can't be sure. I cleaned the LP's even though they look perfect, and heard no difference, furthering my theory. Also, the later material is noticeably better, the last record plays more like NM. If you are familar enough with this material to know for sure, you may well be getting a seriously undergraded box set. The cover is nice, but there are a few white specks on the cover (see picture) and some tape marks on the back. The book looks perfect. I've seen another copy of this for sale for 3 times this price. This seller is calling the vinyl NM, but he also calls the cover NM+ and then describes the writing on the cover. I listened to every LP here, and it is very nice overall, I just can't be sure if the light noise I hear is the vinyl or the source material, so I'm grading conservatively. If you are in the market for this, I think you'll be happy with the condition overall.
