Description
Up for sale is an extemely rare Xian folk LP by Kathy Nevins. The vinyl is not perfect, but priced to reflect as this LP usually fetches upwards of $200. Please review photos and the description below.
VINYL : G+ to VG- : Labels are clean and vinyl lays flat. The biggest, most obvious issue is on side 1, there is a noticeable scratch that runs along the whole side. It's deepest on the last track of side one. Going from the first track, it's superficial. Midway through though, tics and pops become audible, by the last track, it's very noticeable, but there are no skips and played through on my Project Carbon. If you have a garbage turntable and your stylus isn't weighted correctly, first, you probably shouldn't be buying $100 LPS, but, this may skip on that type of turntable. In addition, there are scuffs and light scratches on side 1, most of which are superficial, but some may cause additional tics and pops. Side 2 however, is solid, superficial scuffs and scratches, nothing that really will affect playback. You will hear surface noise, it's a very quiet folk album so even slight surface noise is audible. It doesn't stop the enjoyment of the music, but it I need to stress it's audible because of the type of music, on a Led Zeppelin LP, the same type of surface noise wouldn't even be noticed.
COVER : G+ : Looking at the cover head on, it looks good, slight ringwear noticeable on the top front. As the backside is just blank, the ringwear is much more obvious. The most obvious and glaring issue is the large seam split along the spine, runs three quarters from the bottom to the top. There is dulling around the corners. It has a slight bow going up if you lay it flat on the backside. But again, still looks good looking head on...and if you're buying this album for the cover art, we need to talk about art as it's a pretty boring cover.
