1st Press UK LP released in 1962 on Capitol Records. Cat: ST914.Over the next few weeks I will be listing some wonderful Jazz titles from a recently acquired Jazz collection. The original owner passed away back in 1985 and his sister decided to hold onto them for sentimental reasons. She had not touched or played them since then (1985!!). The records are in stunning condition for their age many, apart from a few light age spots on the covers, look like they walked off the shelf yesterday. I hope you enjoy viewing and possibly purchasing these wonderful jazz vinyl artifacts as much as i have in preparing them for sale and listening to them!!
Although known primarily as one-time partner and wife to Louis Prima (vocals), Keely Smith (vocals) also had a measurable amount of success on her own. I Wish You Love was not only the title of her debut long-player, it quickly became one of her signature pieces as well. By the end of the 1950s, the team of Prima and Smith were among the hottest tickets along the burgeoning Los Vegas and Atlantic City gambling strips. The buzz of their perpetually packed houses and high energy stage show garnered them recording contracts at Capitol both as a duo as well as respective solo artists. On stage, Smith's sweet, inviting, and intimate tone was a perfect contrast to Prima's often bombastic delivery. That same cosy quality is at the heart of the 11 performances on this disc. No doubt the mood enhancing arrangements of the great Nelson Riddle didn't hurt either. While torch songs/ballads became her trademark as a soloist, Smith's sumptuous prowl through "When Day Is Done," and the happy-go-lucky mid-tempo romp of "When Your Lover Has Gone" proves her mettle as an intuitive jazz interpreter as well.
There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Record has a few light scuff marks that cause a few light crackles and is in Excellent condition. Thick gloss cover with back flaps has a tiny sticker and small stamp on back top edge, a few light age spots and a small tear on bottom right corner and is in VG+ condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
