Description
An absolute holy grail for neotraditional country music purists and vinyl archivists: an authentic 1985 U.S. true first pressing of Keith Whitley’s legendary debut studio album, L.A. to Miami. Distributed under the initial RCA Records run (catalog number CPL1-7043), this record captures the late, incomparable singer at the dawn of his mainstream solo career.
This specific copy features the highly coveted, pristine first-state deadwax matrix configuration: CPL1-7043-A-2S / CPL1-7043-B-1S. It includes an authentic vintage retail/promotional notch/cut-out, proving its genuine placement in the album's original autumn 1985 release cycle.
Tragically passing away in 1989 at the age of 34, Keith Whitley left behind one of the most celebrated voices in country music history. His debut full-length album, L.A. to Miami, bridged his deep bluegrass roots with the slicker, mid-80s Nashville production landscape.
