Description
Kenny Burrell's - Asphalt Cayon Suite and Sun Up to Sundown, both Autographed by Kenny Burrell. Both of my friends, the pianist Roberta Mandrel and her husband, plus my friend Eric were friends with Kenny Burrell. He signed a bunch of stuff.
The album (Verve Records V6-8773) is killer music and in great condition. Discogs.com describes this particular version as "same 1969 year and very similar to Kenny Burrell - Asphalt Canyon Suite, but with slightly different label typesetting. Vinyl inner circle says "MGM Records, Inc. 7165 Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA...." My friend, Eric, brought it to the Keystone Corner in San Francisco, CA where Kenny was playing with Freddie Hubbard and Bobby Hutcherson. He signed it at the end on the night, the pen gave out in mid-signature!
The CD is also great and in great shape. Roberta Mandrel is a pianist in the Bay Area, and she and Kenny were friends. He signed this at a Jazz club called Kimball's San Francisco in 1992 I think. Kenny Burrell Sun Up to Sundown- Contemporary Records CCD-14065-2.
