Description
First off thank you for viewing my auction. Over the coming months I will be posting thousands of LPs and 45s from my personal collection as I have decided to trim down from about 10,000 to 5000 discs total. Its just too much space. All items have been collected over the past 20 years. Most records are in immaculate condition. I am an audiophile and I will be play grading all the posted recordings on a vintage hi-fi system. It consists of a Denon dp-3000 with SME 3009 tonearm, shure v15 type iv cart and a jico vn45he stylus. Mcintosh MC504 preamp and MC2505 power amplifier powering Tannoy Arden mk 1 speakers. I will do my best to grade the best way I can in the most discerning manner. I use a record weight and this system really put noise to the back, any discrepancies you may have will be noted, all returns accepted. All records are cleaned with a loricraft PRC4 professional record cleaner. Rest assured your purchases will arrive safe and sound I have all the supplies to ensure solid record shipment. TOP TOP TOP COPY of Kenny Dorham - Whistle Stop BLUE NOTE 4063 MONO 1961 GEM. Before I have a bunch of Jazz collectors jumping on me, I have some things to say about this LP, I think the inner sleeve is not original to this LP. I have no clue how this may have happened but all signs point to the record and jacket being completely original and they are bothcompletely stunning. The record contains both the Plastylite factory "EAR" and the stamped RVG for Rudy Van Gelder. The Jacket is for a Mono LP contains the 43 West 63rd St label, high gloss front finish and quality fold over construction. Immaculate condition for a 55 year old record! Sleeve Grading - EX - look at the pictures just WOW, no fading, slight stain in back on paragraph hardly noticeable, Pen signature in top right, store stamp (I believe) in bottom right shown in picture. Slightest ring wear not noticeable on front check photos close. In just stunning overall condition. Corners are slightly nicked shown in photos opening is perfect, looks like it just came from the factory, best edition BLUE NOTE I have ever seen!!!
Media/Audio Grading - EX+++ Honestly this is one of the best cleanest records I have ever heard its just crazy, I don't want to say mint but this record is close. Not one scratch, couple lick nick sounds hardly audible, no surface noise on side one and side 2 so light hardly audible in most parts. Faintest surface noise can't even hear between tracks at all, doesn't sound like your listening to a record for most of the LP to be honest WOW. Slight warp, very very slight doesn't affect play at all. Visually stunning one slight paper mark not noticeable under regular light, looks like its just came out of the shrink. Now for the Audio --- WOWOWOWO!!! This is by far the best sounding pressing, most real, thing sounds like they are all in the room, one of the best sounding records I have ever heard, stunning highs, fully rounded lows, audiophile grade recording and pressing, killer audio on this.
