Description

WELCOME!!

Of course when I go to record it, it plays through perfectly fine. I swear I remember hearing a skip and a loud THUD on "This is New" and "Little T". I wrote it on my poly sleeve when I first got it a few months back. Just listen to the sample. I recorded "This is New" and the first part of "Carol" thinking there was a loud thud on This is New, and then flipped the album. I wrote down the other was in the 2nd track "little T", but when it didn't make a thud or skip, I just kept letting it play all the way to the end. I usually played it on my Thorens 145 Mk II, but I'm recording it on an Aiwa PX-E580, so maybe the table makes the difference. Go have a listen!! With greats Like Donald Byrd and Hank Mobley, this is an album you don't want to miss!

If you see “HEAR” in the title, head on over to my  SoundCloud Page **CLICK HERE**  to check out the samples I have provided.

Label/Catalog Number: Riverside RLP 12-236

Sleeve: Visually VG Physically VG+. Corner bumps on top left and bottom left. Slightly frayed corners. Writing on back as pictured. Back is very slightly dingy with a slight shade of ring wear. Front artwork is still bright and colorful. Heavy cardboard sleeve. These old jazz sleeves hold up better than most. No SPLITS. Spine is very nice. Completely legible. Sorry I didn't get a picture, but contact me and I'll snap one.

Inner Sleeve: New Generic paper inner

Labels:  VG. Fairly clean. Moderate spindle wear. Original DG WHITE LABEL

Vinyl: GOOD. I swear I remember noting a skip and a thud the first time I played it through. Maybe it was just debris that got knocked loose. Let your ears be the judge.(Check out the samples)  Heavy surface abrasions. Slight to moderate loss of gloss. Surprisingly, not really any feelers to make note of, but just lots of shallow hairlines and scuffs. There are 3-4 sections where it goes from just the Bass, Drums, and Piano, and Donald Byrd comes SCREAMING in on the trumpet. I'm not sure if it's the recording quality, but the first second or two of him coming back in sounds "stressed" like the gain was too high... but also could be due to the condition of the album. <<Just my thoughts

I will try to list new items in the first week of the month. I will list a few random items throughout the month.

Combined shipping for records:

Combined shipping: $4 for first LP, $1 for each additional.

Orders totalling over $100 ship for FREE in the US unless noted in above description (E.G. A lot of 70 LPs). Please request an invoice before checkout.

International:

I use eBay's Global Shipping Program for some of my listings. I require a minimum $25 purchase for international album sales. eBay is responsible for the cost, participating countries, and transit times. The program handles all import and shipping fees. Check with your local customs to approximate import fees. Please consult the knowledge base or customer service with questions regarding this program. I find that it can vary anywhere from $17-30 for shipping. I have no control over what they charge. I only receive $4 to ship it to their facility. Please remember this when leaving feedback about shipping time/cost.
****Notes on vinyl grading/offers:****

Most records are visually graded, but I do play grade quite often. Look to above description. I will usually comment on play quality if I do play test it.

I am usually quite open to offers on most items. However, my items are already priced fairly. I don't operate like most eBayers that double the price and accept an offer of half the asking price.

I use Mint/SS>NM>EX>VG w/ + or - variations>GOOD>FAIR>POOR

Mint/SS (Still Sealed):

Looks as if it just came off of production. Beautiful, crisp, and clean. 99.9% of the listings that have a mint grading will be sealed records. I only have 3-4 opened records that I would grade as mint/unplayed. I will use "Mint-" for sealed records that have a split in the shrink or a tiny corner bump, etc.

NM:

Record and sleeve will look like it was just opened. Sleeve may have some VERY minor wear from handling/age. Very, very few to no spindle marks.

EX:

Vinyl may have superficial visible flaws. Very slight paper scuffs or similar. No discernable audio degradation outside of very slight dust noise. Sleeve will have few minor flaws like a spine crease or a corner push

VG+:

Vinyl will have some noise from dust or very few minor surface scratches not felt with fingernail. Sleeves may have some very slight ring wear or a seam split barely starting on the corners.

VG:

Vinyl will have "tickers". A slight tick that can be heard on a few passes during play, but doesn't overly detract from audio. Still no scratches should be felt with fingernail. Sleeve will still have good cover art, but splits or ring wear may be detracting.

VG-:

Vinyl will have "poppers". These are the noises that stand out from the audio rather noticeably. These can be felt with a fingernail. Spindle wear and excessive signs of use will indicate degradation of audio quality. Seam splits are problematic, but will vary. Read item details for specifics on grading.

GOOD:

Plays through, but with considerable noise. Vinyl will be losing its gloss. Surface scuffs, scratches, and heavy play wear may be painfully apparent. Sleeve will have obvious ring wear, minor staining, or a seam that will likely need repair.

FAIR:

Plays through for the most part, but may skip depending on the table it's played on. This could be due to warp or scratches. Sleeve will fall into about the same condition as GOOD. I only use FAIR to differentiate if the vinyl skips.

POOR:

Vinyl has several skips or a "looper". Dull vinyl. Sleeve has splits on most sides. Record may be cracked or warped. Audio is heavily distorted. Sleeve is split on multiple sides.

 **Sealed Records** <<<READ ME>>>

Some sealed albums have been floating around storage for 50+ years. Who knows what conditions they've been exposed to. I do my best to feel the edge of the vinyl through the sleeve looking for signs of warp/damage.

For obvious reasons, I don't take returns on opened vinyl that is sold as "sealed". It has to be still sealed.

So if you intend to open the vinyl, and would like me to verify its condition before I ship it, please contact me.

****Shipping Policies:****

I use USPS as my preferred carrier. I rarely use FedEx for oversize and heavy items. Games, movies and DVDs are sent first class USPS. Vinyls are sent via media mail.

I use eBay's shipping calculator to price almost every item other than records. No additional handling charges are added.

I normally don't insert a packing slip in with the item. If you would like a packing slip, please ask for one in the "notes" section during checkout.

****Feedback policy: ****
Feedback is a great way for the community to buy with confidence. My idea of feedback is that it's the buyer that really needs to be the happy one. So, following that principle, if you're happy with your purchase, I'm happy with your payment. I find that only about 10-20% of buyers leave feedback at all. Please take the time to leave me feedback and I will quickly and gladly do the same for you. Once a buyer leaves me feedback, I return feedback almost immediately. If the buyer hasn't left feedback after 30 days, I assume they are pleased with the item, and I leave positive feedback.

****Conditions of sale:****

PayPal only. Continental US only. **see below**

I expect payment within 3 days of the end of the auction.

All my items are in working condition unless otherwise stated. I do my absolute best to test everything I own. Items are sold as-is. Again, I test everything to the best of my ability. I will specifically mention something in the listing if i can't. (E.G. A feature that is only controllable by remote control and I'm missing the remote.)

If for some reason you feel you need to return something, remember that the buyer is responsible for return shipping. Also, I will not refund the purchase until the buyer cancels the transaction through the resolution center. These are all eBay "best practices". Please understand. I value my score and want to keep it. Please contact me if you have any problems before leaving negative or even neutral feedback. Email with questions or for more pictures, and I will try to answer ASAP.

International buyers:
I try to ship only to the US, but if you are interested in international shipping let me know and I'll see what I can do. HOWEVER, I only ship priority mail international.
