This would be the first Mobile Fidelity item that we've listed-

It is a sealed copy of Kenny Rogers Greatest Hits issued on Mobile Fidelity (MFSL) Catalogue number MFSL 1-049. Stereo pressing.  Originally issued on Liberty Records. Packaged with it's cardboard inner reinforcement panel and static-free rice paper inner liner. May also come with a Mobile Fidelity catalogue sheet. The cardboard panel may be printed as well. It is wrapped in it's original loose plastic cover and the price sticker remains as well. It is a vintage Tower Records sticker with $ 19.99 printed on it. Cover appears to be in excellent shape and no corner dents or splits are visible.

A brief note on Mobile Fidelity: Founded in 1977 by Brad Miller, who recorded Mystic Moods Orchestra in the mid to late 1960's, he was always interested in the best sound possible. Mobile fidelty was formed in order to restore original master tapes to their original dynamic sound. Considered better than any conventional pressing, Mobile Fidelty took extra time to remaster the tapes and make a exceedingly high quality master at half the speed of the original recorning. For instance, if the master tape was recorded at 30 I.P.S., it was played back and cut at 16 and two-thirds to register all of the important information that conventional pressings most likely have missed. Masters were sent to the JVC Victor company in Japan and "virgin vinyl" pressings were made from the master laquer. Japanese vinyl has been considered some of the highest quality ever made because of it's silky smooth appearance and playback and the way it handles the entire audio spectrum. Virgin vinyl is often "see-through" and most of these, if you look at them through a light, they have a root beer colour. Turntables, when equipped with the correct cartridge, the sonic reproduction surpasses most conventional pressings making these particular editions one-of-a-kind and certainly a collector's item.
