Totally deleted very early red/white Island label single from Kenton Patrick, later know as Lord Creator, the man who brought you; `Big Bamboo, Don't stay out late', and ` We will be Lovers' with Norma Fraser. Recorded at Randy's, almost certainly backed by the Skatalites and produced by Vincent `Randy' Chin. The A side track is available on a Lord Creator hits comp, but not credited to Kenton Patrick. The flip side is totally unavailable. It's a great organ/ mouth organ led jump up ska instrumental, a super tune like a prehistorical augustus pablo ska stomper....

Not available on GEMM or anywhere else worldwide. Last copy sold on eBay for £182, and that was a jukebox copy without a centre. ( http://popsike.com/php/detaildata.php?itemnr=4835044884 ). 99p start. Get bidding.

 

Vinyl Condition, Visual: VERY GOOD / EXCELLENT .

The A side has light rubs and  signs of light wear, the flip is better and has very few signs of play.

Vinyl Condition, Audible: EXCELLENT /VERY GOOD.

The A side plays perfectly with a tiny amount of static, the flip side has a little more wear but plays well with no major faults.

Label Condition : EXCELLENT

Red/White Island label, a few very light rubs. Complete with original centre.

Bio - In photos, Lord Creator (Kendrick Patrick) resembles the young Cab Calloway. Where most reggae stars took their initial inspiration from Otis Redding and other American soul singers, Lord Creator sounds as though he was at least equally influenced by pre-rock jump blues shouters like Louis Jordan and smooth harmony vocalists such as the Ink Spots or the Mills Brothers. Lord Creator also mostly eschews the political aspects of much reggae. Even when he does venture into topical material the lyrics avoid strident polemics, instead making serious points through humor and carefully observed detail.

  MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

  EXCELLENT (US version of this term: Near Mint): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

  VERY GOOD (US version of this term: VG++): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (US version of this term: VG): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits etc.
