Description
Released in 2001 this was the first time the music composed for the 1969 film Kes was released.

PERSONNEL: HAROLD MCNAIR (FLUTE), RONNIE ROSS (BASS CLARINET), DANNY MOSS (CLARINET), TONY CARR (DRUMS), DAVID SNELL (HARP). ENGINEERED BY VIC SMITH.
RECORDED AT OLYMPIC STUDIOS 25th JANUARY 1969.
"Kes was my first film score as a composer and after thirty years of Symphony Orchestras and Rock'n'Roll bands, an Academy nomination, a Drama Desk award, Opening nights, Razzamataz, Les Miserables et al., there's something that draws me inexorably back to Kes. perhaps it's the plaintive simplicity of Harold McNair's solo flute, perhaps it's because the film itself is such a beautiful work, I know I get as much satisfaction from this score as from anything else I've ever written."
