Released in 1969, Joy of a Toy was Kevin Ayer’s debut solo album, accompanied on the LP by his Soft Machine colleagues Robert Wyatt, Mike Ratledge and Hugh Hopper. Joy features many of Ayers' most enduring songs from "The Lady Rachel" to "Girl on a Swing. Shooting at The Moon is actually Kevin Ayers and the Whole World, Ayers second album released in 1970. Two classic albums in one package.
Sleeve: Side opening gatefold laminated cover; all edges and corners remain true, fully readable spine , no splits, rips or writing - light age related handling marks and light ringwear - although probably sounds worse than it is - please see photos, graded solid VG+
Vinyl: both vinyls retain full bright gloss, light play only, visually both look EX+ , a few wispy hairlines that are visible only under a strong light - nothing that interferes with play EX going on EX+
Labels: Clean (see photos) EX/EX+
Audio: Nice clean uninterrupted sound - no skips, jumps, pips or pops - plays solid EX or better (played on a Pro-Ject carbon - blue Ortofon) - excellent playing copy
A must for anybody’s collection - nice playing copy of this sought after rare double album at a decent price, that won’t disappoint.

I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
