Description
Petr Abramovich BONDARENKO (1903, Fastiv, Ukraine, – 1985, tel Aviv), violinist, teacher. Graduated from the Moscow Conservatory (1930). In 1925-30 he played in Persimfans (Moscow conductorless orchestra), 1925-31 he was in the Stradivarius Quartet, 1928-56, she was a soloist of the orchestra of All-Union Radio Committee, 1931-56 played in trio of All-Union Radio Committee, which recorded for the Fund of the All-Union Radio all trios of Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms and many modern works. In the 1930s and 60s he often performed in a duet with pianist T. Gutman (1905-95). In 1950-60s played the second violin in the Quartet of D. Oistrakh, whom he met in 1942 in Sverdlovsk. In 1977 Bondarenko moved to Israel. In 1977-85 he was a Professor of the S. Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Among his students — concertmasters of Israeli orchestras I. Tune, Bat-Sheva Savaldi-Colberg and others. In the 1980s Bondarenko gave master classes and was a member of the jury at the chamber music festivals organized by G. Kremer in Lockenhaus (Austria).
