Description
There is not much to be said about this hugely influential album that hasn't already been said. Suffice it to say that no other jazz record has quite the reputation as 'Kind of Blue'. To this day, (jazz) musicians are STILL using a fragment of a melodic line or note progression from this Lp to lay the foundation for an entire album...incredible, but true. There have been dozens and dozens of pressings of this iconic record over the last 50 years...especially, in the last 10. It's overwhelming and frankly, a little ridiculous. The copy I'm offering is the very first Mono (BPG 62066) UK CBS pressing and I must say, it's really superb. As soon as you hear the first cymbal crash (at aprox. 1:30) on 'So What', you know you've got a very special pressing in your hands....the note goes on forever until it becomes a clean whisper. This is a copy that you will never need to upgrade...from the first note to the last; it is truly the cleanest most sublime pressing I've ever heard.
Condition of Lp Jacket: Near Mint(minus) ....the only flaws being some inoffensive, miniscule wear to the opening lip of the jacket. The lamination is stunning and mirror-like...spine is near-perfect. The flipbacks are in perfect condition. CBS inner-sleeve is included.
Condition of Record: Near Mint.....absolutely astonishing for this vinyl even after 50 years...you'd be hard-pressed to find another in similar condition. The weight of the vinyl is probably between 140 to 155 grams.
