Description

Back in 1997 I had the opportunity to work with Dave Davies few several months. It consisted of Rehearsal Studio’s for several weeks as well as half dozen shows on the road. I had always been and to this day have been a huge Kinks Fan. My very first concert was The Kinks and Eddie Money at The Dr. Pepper Music Series at the skating rink in Central Park, NYC. We purchased the expensive floor seats; they were $4.50/each. The risers in back were $2.50 in 1978, The Misfits Tour. My older sister took me and to this day, I’m thankful she did. We were sitting close enough to the front of the stage, when Ray sang Alcohol, I was sprayed by the Heineken he shook up and sprayed the audience with. Was not happy about it at the time, but looking back at it, I have fond memories.  Back to the original story, a friend of mine had put the band together that was to back Dave on his Very First Solo Tour, my friend asked if I wanted to do some recording for them, I jumped at the opportunity to work with a childhood hero. Let’s say I completely understand why Ray has had so many problems with Dave over the years. That said, although I never worked with Ray, I have crossed paths with him several times over the years, and it was always pleasure.

Dave signed this LP at Uncle Rehearsal Studio in Van Nuys, CA on 3/25/97. The signature is crisp and in Bold Black Sharpie.
