King Crimson ?– In The Court Of The Crimson King ,ILPS 9111, LP, UK 1st A2/B4.
Original UK pressing on pink island label. A2/B4 matrix endings. EJ Day gatefold sleeve.
Lots of light scuffs and marks. Deeper (although still not really feelable) scratch across half of moonchild.
Vinyl has been play tested and plays VG overall.
Side one has light crackle in some of the quieter sections and the odd pop but still really enjoyable in the main. This side play grades VG+ overall.
Side two has crackle on run ins and in quite a few other places, though is most noticeable through first 1/4 of side which has clicks and pops (from the deeper scratch) No sticks, skips, jumps. The final 3/4 of the side are better with odd crackle. VG-
Overall grade is VG only.
The original sleeve has light edge wear evident near the corners and on spine. Pin holes in corners where it’s been used as a poster at some point. Overall though I would grade the sleeve as VG+. Obviously not new but no major issues either. No rips, or major faults. Very light and hard to notice name written inside of gatefold near EJ Day company name (see photos).
Overall this record certainly isn’t perfect, but also not bad either. Let down by moonchild but the rest is a pretty decent listen. Makes a decent filler for any serious prog collectors.
