Description

An original 1st press of ITCOTCK on the UK Island label. Solid Pink labels. Matrix A2/B3. This title is beyond fussy and you need to insist on the very best preservation levels to fully reveal this prog-rock masterpiece. Note that the record comes housed in an original 1st issue heavy-card cover printed by E J Day. Also included is the original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve date coded to October 1969 [109] - which is one month after 1st release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) A stunning looking slab of vinyl which has clearly only seen very light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of slight marks on side 2 - nothing feelable, but they do sound briefly - see details below. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with a couple of deviations in Moonchild. THIS title is one of those titles which is truly incredibly difficult to find playing properly clean. And we're not giving a throw-away grading of Ex+.... with this title anywhere near Ex+ is a very unusual feat and a very hard find. I won't bore you with which bits play low-key etc etc..we all know where they are and there's plenty of them! But this copy will guarantee you a superb rendition delivering ALL and every section with tremendous clarity, depth, and resolution. If you need to hear this album as it was originally intended with maximum audio delivery....then do take a serious look at this copy. Even, "Moonchild" which would be in the running for fussiest darn track of all time... is delivered very nice and clean. Not perfect...but certainly better than most...expect the odd few low-level static crackles in a couple of isolated moments, and midway through roughly 4 minor ticks, and toward the end a couple of pops, and a couple more right as it closes out. Still, there's no getting away from the fact that by and large this is an incredibly well preserved and top level performer - Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) A lovely early original copy which has clearly been looked after down the years. A very nice clean and flat front and rear. I'm struggling to make out any surface wear or creasing at all really. The interior is immaculate. Might grade a tad higher but for the small neat signature right in the centre of the rear. Edge wear is relatively light for this title and the openings are still sharp. All text on the spine is still legible [barring one letter] and there's just a touch of light wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Most certainly a top-level specimen. 
Inner (Vg+) Bit aged at the extremities. But no splits.
