DESCRIPTION: King Crimsons timeless masterpiece - In The Court of The Crimson King. Gatefold sleeve and correct blue Island poly lined inner bag. Matrix A4U/B4U, Pink Rim labels. LABEL AND CATALOGUE NUMBER: Island ILPS 9111 YEAR OF RELEASE: 1970 COUNTRY OF RELEASE: UK CONDITION (VINYL/COVER): EX/EX+. Vinyl is very clean with a deep dark sheen.When held to an angle in bright artificial light it has a couple of very thin very light hairlines. Played in its entirety today on my Pro-ject Deck. Sits perfectly flat on the turntable. Sounds excellent. Clear and loud with amazing depth and great seperation. I bought this off a guy who worked in Rumbelows record shop in Newcastle and picked it up from new and played sparingly. This is by far the best sounding copy of this i have ever had. My own copy is a pink I and it has light background sound throughout, particularly on side 2. You will not believe the clarity of sound on this, Side B is usually very noisy but this is just amazing. Cover retains fantastic shape and firmness with less than light edgewear, light corner wear and absolutely negligable creasing. Inside of gatefold is immaculate. Immaculately clean labels. Blue inner bag is also excellent, no splits , writing etc and in very nice shape. No writing, rips, stickers or sticker tears elsewhere. Overall this is a fantastic copy of one of the best Lps ever. Grading system: I use UK’s “Record Collector” Grading System but please note that GRADINGS ARE VISUAL ONLY UNLESS STATED. You are likely to get some background noise , even if its just between the tracks on 30-40 year old vinyl records!! :: MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface mark or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound has noticably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding,scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc. I will at times use a + or - to indicate when a record falls between the grades.
