For collectors and fans, an opportunity to acquire their first album on the pink island label with the fours matrix variants.  This is a rare and unique opportunity for the completist in you.  Being a big fan of this album, I was not satisfied with the one copy I had.  The geek in me set me upon a mission to acquire the matrix variants as detailed below.  Crucially, the correct Ernest Day covers accompany each copy.  Not only that, this album is hard to find in semi good condition in terms of the vinyl and the record cover.  A note on this, the extended quieter parts usually display background noise.  Please note that even the better presented copies in pristine condition will have this background noise.  This is owing to the way that the record was pressed.  The other point of note, the unlamented gatefold covers are usually susceptible to excessive wear. On these two points, the detailed description to follow addresses condition throughout and I would suggest that this lot be a welcome addition to grace your private collection.  A detailed breakdown and visual assessment (erring on the side of conservatism) follows:
1/ In The Court of The Crimson King A2/B2 Side 1 Matrix A2 Vinyl visually looks in EX and better condition as is the label EX+.  Lovely glossy shine.   Side 2 Matrix B2

The correct gatefold cover by Ernest Day is in EX condition.  These non laminated covers are typically prone to high levels wear on the front, back, and spine.  The front, back and inner gatefold retain the vibrant and punchy artwork colour with minimal wear.  The spine is fully intact and readable.  A beautiful specimen. Special note: the very first A2 B2 press comes with an E J Day gatefold that can be distinguished by the darker blue background on inside gatefold (see the other three gatefold insides were there is more of a lighter blue hue).   So there you have it, the correct distinguished A2 B2 cover!

3/ In The Court of The Crimson King A2/B4 Side 1 Matrix A4 Vinyl visually looks in EX-. Would merit a solid EX to EX+ but for a  mark b/w track 1 and 2. However, an absolutely lovely glossy shine.  Label is EX+, light spindles from limited plays. Very hard to source in this condition.   Side 2 Matrix B4 Vinyl visually looks in EX- Would merit EX to EX+ but for light marks at track 1 side (under light scrutiny). However, an absolutely lovely glossy shine.  Label is EX+, light spindles from limited plays. Very hard to source in this condition.

Again to reiterate, a unique presentation to grace your collection.  Well worth the expenditure for this ground breaking album.  Individually very hard to acquire in semi decent condition but to have the 4 first press matrix variants as listed and available in the same lot, that is what makes this offering so special and unique.  Please note that the A2/B2 copy alone (in the stated condition) commands prices in the mid to high hundreds.  Please do your research to understand what i deem as a fair start price.  Also please use your zoom function to study this lot in detail as pictures can be worth an thousand words and i have endeavored to catch all pertinent details
As much as it pains me, I am diluting my lovingly acquired collection so please keep an eye out for other special lots of rare collections.
