Description
King Crimson, In The Court of The Crimson King, vinyl LP, pink I label, A2/B4. This album was purchased second hand many years ago. On receipt, it had been stored in the clear plastic outer protection sleeve and we believe it had been stored in an old or damp building as it has always smelled musty. The record itself is very dirty and we would say that it needs to be professionally cleaned, something we had intended to get done but didn't get round to. The appearance of the record is quite scratched in places. We have tried playing it recently and it plays better than its appearance suggests (hence the suggestion that it needs to be professionally cleaned), it just sounded a little muffled in places and the odd evidence of scratches (the odd crackle in playing). The inner plastic sleeve in the paper sleeve has become separated at some point in the past and the record has been pushed into the sleeve, crumpling the inner plastic sleeve. There is a small tear in the inner paper sleeve near the top opening and the paper is very yellow. The outer cardboard album cover is generally in quite good condition, having been stored in the outer plastic sleeve and just suffers from a few scuffed and warped edges. The pink label on side 2 has a small tear on one side. The LP has the pink Island Records label with white I (smooth version). In spite of all the apparent issues with this LP, it was still an amazing experience to listen to it and we suspect that a good professional clean will help (at the buyer's own expense).
Please note, this record is sold as described and as shown in the photographs and has not been professionally cleaned but it is in its original state from the time of its purchase, second hand, with a number of superficial defects. The stamps on both sides are a little hard to make out, but as far as we can tell, this is what the markings are: Side 1 - ILPS 9111 AV2 1217 Side 2 - ILPS 9111 B//4 1112

Since owned by us (decades), this LP has been in a smoke-free home - as mentioned earlier, just smells musty from previous home.
