‘In the Court of the Crimson King' - Island pink 'i' label - Stereo LP 1st Press

I bought this copy of this mind-blowing album on its first release and it still sounds unique.
I understand that the earliest matrices issued were Av2 and B//3. Therefore I believe that this example has all the characteristics of an original 1st press of In the Court of the Crimson King:
- Island pink 'i' textured label
- Matt gatefold 1st press sleeve printed by EJ Day
This is a genuine classic, a great rarity, and much sought after. I am not a dealer. This record comes from my own collection which I have been selling here on ebay for a few months. Please take a look my feedback and you’ll see that previous buyers feel I have accurately graded my records in the past. I use the Record Collector grading system.
Cover
It has a front, back and inner matt gate-fold sleeve with a plain inner sleeve. It is in perfect Mint condition. As you can see from the pictures it is clean and virtually flawless with no writing or pen or pencil marks. It has no other significant marks and no tears. The spine is intact and the corners are perfect except for the tiniest c1-2mm scuff on top left corner. There are no surface scuffs or ring marks as the cover has spent the past 43 years protected by a plastic outer sleeve. The colours inside, outside and on the spine are as vibrant as they were when I bought it. The inner sleeve is perfect too. You'd be hard put to find better.
Record
It has no visible blemishes at all that I can see. The labels are clean and unmarked, with no writing, pen or pencil marks. There are no spindle marks. The playing surfaces are gleaming, have no visible scratches and look as good as new. The reproduction quality is about as good as it got from a 1969 vinyl pressing - it's never going to be digital quality, but pretty good nevertheless. There are no audible scratches or crackles other than the usual surface noise that you'd get with any new vinyl record. The lead in and play out grooves are clean and glitch-free. However, it has one notable flaw. Approx 15 secs in during the quiet introductory steam organ passage on side 1 the record sticks. However from before the beginning of Track 1 '21st Century Schizoid Man' until the end of side 2 it plays perfectly well. So, if it were not for this glitch the record itself I would otherwise grade Excellent+. With this one glitch, I'll leave it to you to judge how you would grade it yourself.
I believe this is an excellent copy of this very rare 1st press. Although this record was a big UK hit, 1st press examples will be very hard to find.
