Description

It's an 1970 German first press on the unusual Stateside/EMI label in very nice shape. Aside from a small name inked in the glossy gatefold and a curious number written into the dead wax, it's all looking good. Check all the photos. 1970's 'In the wake of Poseidon' is a massive follow up to 'The court of the Crimson King'. 'Pictures of a city' hits hard with an razor sharp proto doom riff, an absolute killer heavy tune, while 'The devil's triangle' and the title track, 'In the wake of Poseidon' are Mellotron soaked dirges of psychological despair. Vocalist, Greg Lake left behind an milestone album here before he bailed to form Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. Good move Greg. So many excellent moments at every turn, 'In the wake of Poseidon' is an  outstanding musical statement and progressive rock classic.
