LABEL AND CATALOGUE NUMBER: Island ILPS 9111:
YEAR OF RELEASE: 1969
COUNTRY OF RELEASE: UK
CONDITION (VINYL/COVER): VG+/VG. Vinyl is really clean with a deep dark sheen and just a few very light hairlines on both sides. Visual VG+, very near to EX. Ive played all of this a few times over last few weeks. Sits perfectly flat on the turntable. It has a really nice uplifting sound and plays a really strong VG overall, probably better. It has a few soft ticks in the initial intro to "21st Century Schizoid Man" and during the quietest passages of "Moonchild". There is a trace of very light background sound towards the end of "I Talk To The Wind". Gatefold cover is in clean condition. It is firm and square and has moderate edge wear, moderate corner wear and light creasing. Light rippling to rear of sleeve and a 1cm pinked in sticker removal mark to front. Really clean inside of gatefold. Very clean labels- check out the photos.. No writing, rips, stickers or sticker tears.
GRADING SYSTEM: I use UK’s “Record Collector” Grading system. MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface mark or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound has noticably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc. I will at times use a + or - to indicate when a record falls between the grades.
I am just starting to sell off my very extensive record collection, built up over 40 years. I have hundreds of rarities in fantastic condition from many genres including blues, punk, metal, britpop, progressive, kraut, classic and hard rock. Almost all of the records i list will be in at least VG+ condition. The only exceptions would be some extremely rare records. PLEASE ADD ME TO YOUR FAVOURITE SELLERS LIST.
