King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King - UK Island lp ILPS 9111
Matrices ILPS 9111 A2 and B4
Stunning quality pressing of this very rare lp.
The record is conservatively graded excellent. It is flat and very clean and shiny: indeed on first inspection it looks like new. Under bright light there are a couple of very light marks which are very difficult to see and make no contribution to the sound. There is no crackle in the run ins or between tracks and no pops, jumps or sticks. There are some very occasional barely audible ticks. These are almost inaudible - even in Moonchild - and I mention them only to be ultra picky. This one will not disappoint.
The labels are in excellent condition. They are pink with an "i" logo indicating a first pressing. There are a few spindle marks indicating the lp has been played and there is some very light wear to the hole.
The cover is in at least very good condition. It is clean and intact but there has been some wear to the corners and a little more to the edges and spine. This is typical of this sleeve: in my experience even well kept copies are prone to such wear. There are, of course, no tears, no stickers or residue and no writing anywhere on the sleeve.
This is a copy that I am sure would satisfy all but the most exacting of collectors. The lp both looks and sounds fantastic. The sleeve does have some wear but it is much less than on many copies I have seen. Happy bidding.
