UK 2nd PRESSING LP


This early 2nd UK pressing of their iconic 1969 album is on the 'pink-rimmed' Island label: ILPS 9111.


The disc is housed in a heavy card gatefold cover complete with blue poly-lined Island inner-sleeve.


Matrix numbers: ILPS + 9111 A+3 & ILPS + 9111 B+3

Ace cutting engineer George Peckham's nickname 'PORKY' is etched into the side 1 run-out.

A fine pair with no significant visible marks or wear.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Clean & glossy playing surfaces which are unmarked in strong daylight, bearing only some harmless wispy hairlines directly under halogen light.

Play: VERY GOOD

Despite the excellent visual shape of the disc, it has received a moderate amount of play as  some light background/crackle is audible throughout the quieter passages. My careful play check also found 6 loud 'pops' on track 2, side 2 but no further significant or maqjor audible faults or distractions on this classic.

Cover

EXCELLENT

A very clean & strong example with vibrant unworn front & rear panels. There is some minor shelfwear to the lower left corner and a small bump to the rear of the upper left but that really is all there is to fault. Inside is unblemished and all seams and the spine smooth, unstressed and unworn.

Inner-sleeve

EXCELLENT

Bright & clean with slight some discolouration around the edges but no writing, seam splits or tears.
