King Crimson In the Court of the Crimson King UK Island 1st pressing lp ILPS 9111

Stunning first pressing of this superb lp

Matrices ILPS 9111 A2 and B4

It is seldom that I do so but I have graded the lp as mint. It is flat and very clean and shiny: indeed it looks new. There are no observable marks even in very bright light and the sound is flawless throughout. There are no spindle marks so if the lp has been played (other than the play grading) it can only be once or twice. It will be very difficult, if not impossible to find a copy as good as this anywhere.

The labels are also graded mint. There are absolutely no defects - including no spindle marks.

The cover is in very good condition. It is the correct sleeve for this pressing with E J Day in a box on the inner gatefold. It is also quite pink in hue unlike later reissues which are more blue. It is crisp and clean in every respect. There is only the tiniest of wear to the edges and opening and a little, more prominent, wear to the spine in one corner (see photo). Unfortunately there has been some fading to the spine (a very common problem with this sleeve). This fading is also visible on the front (see photos).

The original Inner is in near mint condition with just a very light impression (not ringwear) where the lp has been. There are no major creases or rips, tears etc.

This lp is unquestionably of final upgrade quality. It simply looks and plays like a new lp. Happy bidding.
