Description
An original 1st press of LTIA on the UK Pink Rim Island label. Matrix 2/2. Stampers 1-PT/?-HG. Etching 'Sark'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Robor printed pinched spine cover. We don't have the original lyric inner sleeve unfortunately, but we do have a generic blue Island inner sleeve from 1973.
Vinyl (Ex+) In astonishing condition and has clearly only seen very light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Anyone familiar with this album already will know that whilst theirs a lot of high-octane dense audio parts there are also a lot of very very quiet sections...bees buzzing, chimes etc etc. And so only a copy which is perfectly preserved is going to give you a perfect rendition. And rest assured this is a damn fine rendition! I've played a few of these copies and this one stands out as nigh on perfect. There's absolutely no sign of background interference at all - and I mean absolutely nothing. Even in those super low-key section clean and quiet. Very impressive. All we could detect the whole way through was a couple of crackles and one inexplicable pop right at the start of the chimes that begin the record. I really think it would be nigh on impossible matching the audio preservation levels on this copy.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Ok, so this is another one of THOSE covers which are quite frankly a pain in the derriere to find in top-condition. But this one literally knocks the ball out-of-the-park! Beautifully white and no ageing or foxing apparent. Back and front are as clean as anything. The only vaguely noticeable issue is a very light stain down in the bottom-left on the rear [you have to concentrate to even make it out]. Edge wear is very very light and the spine is 100% intact. Even those pinched ends look fabbo. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat.
Inner (Ex+) No faults and little ageing.
