Description
King Crimson – Starless and Bible Black Island 1st Pressing LP ILPS 9275
This has the original 1974 Island Palm Tree labels with the first pressing matrix numbers A2M and B3M. The album is one of a run of great Crimson releases from the late 60s/ early 70s and features the late John Wetton on bass and vocals.
CONDITION
I use the RC grading categories and have play graded the vinyl on a Linn LP12. I have been using high end turntables for over 30 years.
Sleeve: Excellent
The record has been stored in a polythene outer sleeve and the textured gatefold sleeve is in superb condition. The cover has no tears, splits, creases, sticker marks or stains. There is no corner wear or edge wear. The inner gatefold is immaculate. There is no writing on sleeve or labels. There is faint ring wear on the rear of the cover. It has the original lyric inner sleeve, which is in very good condition but does have a split on one side caused by pressure from the disc, and creasing to one corner.
Vinyl: Excellent-
The record is in excellent condition and has had very little play for its age and era. There are few visible spindle marks on the labels and no obvious marks on the disc. There are no sticks, jumps or warps. There is no distortion and no crackle. The vinyl is silent between tracks and from the run in grooves. Please note there are seven repeat light clicks about a quarter of the way in to the last track on side 2.
POSTAGE AND PACKAGING
The record will be packed in a record mailer with stiffener and posted 2nd class signed for. I remove all records from outer and printed inner sleeves before packing to avoid damage to covers during transit. All vinyl is dispatched in polythene sleeves.
This is one of several albums I am selling from my personal collection (see my other listings). I am not a dealer but have been buying records for over 40 years and have decided to begin ‘downsizing’ my collection. I will be listing many more records over the coming months, dating from the 1960s to the present day.
