A SHORT NOTE REGARDING TO THE RECENT (UNDESERVED !!) NEGATIVES LEFT BY TWO DEADBEATS…ONE OF THEM WON AN ITEM,NEVER PAID FOR IT AND LEFT A RIDICULOUS NEGATIVE FEEDBACK (THIS SHOULDN’T BE ALLOWED !!)..THE OTHER „GENIOUS” –WHO BARELY SPEAKS/UNDERSTANDS ENGLISH AT ALL -  ONLY COLLECTS „MINT” RECORDS (ACCORDING TO HIM !!) , BID ON MY EX+ AND MINT- RECORDS AND UPON RECEIVING THEM STARTED A PAYPAL CLAIM STATING THAT THEY ARE NOT „MINT”..PAYPAL CLOSED THE CASE IN MY FAVOUR (A CLEAR EVIDENCE THAT BOTH OF MY GRADINGS WERE 100% CORRECT !!!) – AS A RETALIATION HE LEFT NEGATIVES …

BUT THE WORST OF THEM ALL IS FROM "TREEHOUSERECORDSRETAIL" WHO UNREALISTICLY EXPECTS/DEMANDS AN EX+ COVER TO BE "NEAR PERFECT" (WHICH IS NOT AND SHOULD NEVER BE !!) AND THEN CLAIMS HE RECEIVED ONLY A PARTIAL REFUND (I RECEIVED A NOTE FROM PAYPAL THAT FULL REFUND HAS BEEN GIVEN,ALSO HAVE A COPY OF IT !!!)...I GUESS THIS EXPLAINS EVERYTHING...

THIS ALBUMSOLD TERRIBLY ON RELEASE AND TODAY IS VERY,VERY DIFFICULT  TO LOCATE!!!! THIS LP IS A 100% GENIUNE 1ST PRESSING - WITH A FLIPBACK OUTER COVER (LATER ONES DONT), AND ULTRA RARE GATEFOLD INNER/INSERT!!!!  ONLY THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS CAME LIKE THIS - BEFORE THE PACKAGING WAS CHANGED.   IT WAS SO FRAGILE THAT MOST WERE EVEN SPLIT ON DELIVERY TO THE RECORD SHOP - AND ON MANY 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP THE INSERT IS OFTEN COMPLETELY SPLIT FROM THE INNER SLEEVE - OFTEN LEADING PEOPLE TO BELIEVE THIS LP ACTUALLY HAD A SEPARATE INSERT!!!!  IN ACTUAL FACT ON ALL 100% GENIUNE 1ST PRESSINGS (LIKE THIS ONE!) THE INSERT WAS JOINED TO THE INNER SLEEVE (LATER CHANGED) AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND A 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LP IN THIS CONDITION!!!!  AND WITHOUT ANY DOUBT THIS IS ONE OF THE  HARDEST KING CRIMSON LPs TO FIND IN TOP CONDITION ..  THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1971 UK 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS ISLAND LABEL, 1ST PRESS A-1U/B-1U MATRIX ENDINGS, 1ST PRESS GATEFOLD INSERT/INNER SLEEVE, AND 1ST PRESS FLIPBACK OUTER COVER!!!!

cover:  flip-back cover , superb  clean EX+ condition with light  corner wear and few small creases ... the spine is really nice and strong with small wear in the middle….opening edge is nice,straight  and clean,very sharp without any signs of wear at all..NO .....no rips,tears,splits or any other damages....

record,visual:   superb clean jet-black and shiny EX+ with VERY light superficial surface and harmless surface lines,absolutely NO scratches at all ….it still retains it’s beautiful original sheen and it looks GREAT  !!!

 The insert has clear tape on the spine,also  on the  edges of the part that holds the record…two pieces of white paper on the front-other than this it’s clean and free from writings and tears..

record,audio: I PLAYED THE ENTIRE RECORD FROM START TO END-THE AUDIO IS  GREAT WITH  CRYSTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT SOUND WITHOUT ANY SINGS OF GROOVEWEAR,WITH  GREAT DELIVERY AND  STEREO IMAGE…ABSOLUTELY NO LOUD POPS/CLICKS,SOME VERY,VERY LIGHT  BACKGROUND NOISE CAN BE DETECTED IN QUIET PARTS BUT NOT INTRUSIVE AT ALL …THIS COPY HAS BEEN SITTING IN STORAGE FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS SO A PROFESSIONAL CLEANING JOB WOULD MOST LIKELY IMPROVE THE SOUND AND GET RID OF MOST OF THE BACKGROUND NOISE WHICH THERE ISN’T  MUCH OF ANYWAY..

labels:   AS CLEAN AS IT COULD BE  with light spindle hole marks…ILPS 9175 A-1U   and  ILPS 9175 B-1U  matrix numbers,VERY FIRST pressing… no tears,stamps or any other damages...

Gradings: I ALWAYS TRY TO DO MY BEST IN GIVING ACCURATE,HONEST AND VERY STRICT GRADINGS BY USING THE FOLLOWING TERMS:

I ALSO USE  PLUS (+) AND MINUS (-) IF THE CONDITION FALLS BETWEEN TWO GRADES.

VINYL WILL FIRST BE INSPECTED VISUALLY VERY CAREFULLY UNDER STRONG LIGHT, THEN WILL BE TESTPLAYED SKIPPING THROUGH EACH TRACK ON BOTH SIDES ( INCLUDING RUN-IN,RUN-OUT GROOVES AND THE SPACES BETWEEN TRACKS ) TO CHECK THE OVERALL PLAYBACK  QUALITY.

ALL TESTPLAYING IS DONE ON TOP QUALITY EQUIPMENT- LINN SONDEK WITH ITTOK TONEARM AND BENZ MICRO GLIDER S MOVING COIL CARTRIDGE,McINTOSH TUBE AMPMS AND AMT ESS HEIL SPEAKERS.

IN THE UNLIKELY CASE THAT YOU SHOULD BE UNHAPPY WITH MY GRADING/DESCRIPTION PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE LEAVING NEGATIVE FEEDBACK-I’M SURE THAT WE CAN CLEAR OUT EVERY PROBLEM IN A KIND WAY!

PLEASE NOTE:ALTHOUGH I DIDN’T  HEAR ANY SERIOUS PROBLEMS DURING THE TESTPLAY ON MY SYSTEM AND HAVE GIVEN AN HONEST DESCRIPTION OF THE CONDITION OF THE VINYL,I CAN’T GUARANTEE IT WILL PLAY THE SAME WAY ON YOUR SYSTEM -YOU MIGHT HEAR THE ODD STATICK TICK/POP THAT I DIDN’T !!!

If you expect a factory new record with CD sound, dont bid, look for the CD instead. This means that a M- record is not NEW, it is most likely used but taken exceptional care of that it qualifies as M-.
