King Oliver's (Creole) Jazz Band on Okeh 40000
Up for sale is a very rare copy of what is considered by many to be the best King Oliver record (aside from Zulu's Ball, of course). The unforgettable solo breaks performed by Louis Armstrong on "Tears" , as well as the intense improvisations done on "Buddy's Habit", only contribute to the sheer force of this legendary jazz band.
Condition: I would safely say that the record is an E-- cosmetically due to some very light greying, but It plays E-. As seen in the pictures, there is a small section of scratching on the "Tears" side, as well as some scuffing near the outside that does NOT affect play. Both sides only have only a few light scratches that correspond to the grade. NO skips or rough/stressed grooves!. Overall, a great and rare collectors item that is in very good shape.
