Description

Yellow label, deep groove. Original 12" issue.  King Pleasure sings on 8 tracks.  2 tracks also includes Ed Lewis, trumpet; Charlie Ferguson, tenor sax; Ed Swanston, piano; Peck Morrison, bass; Hebie Lovelle, drums; Berty Carter, vocals. Recorded in 1952.  4 tracks also include John Lewis, piano; Percy Heath, bass; Kenny Clarke, drums; Dave Lambert Singers. Recorded in 1953. 2 tracks with the Quincy Jones Band which includes J.J. Johnson, Kai Winding, trombones; Lucky Thompson, te4nor sax; Danny Bank, baritone sax; Jimmy Jones, piano; Paul Chambers, bass; Joe Harris, drums; Jon Hendricks, Eddie Jefferson, Three Riffs, vocals for 1954. 4 Tracks with Annie Ross vocals. Accompanied by Teacho Wilshire, piano (on 3 tracks), George Wallington, piano (on 1track); Ram Ramirez, organ; Percy Heath, bass; Art Blakey, drums. Recorded in 1952.

Cover:  VG+   3" split on the top edge at the spine. 2 - 1/4" splits on the spine with some general wear on the spine near the area of the splits. Most of the edges show no wear.  Some discoloration a the edges of the white sections on the front cover.  Light aging on the back cover with small writing at the top of the back cover near the spine.

Record:   Mint(-)  Visually shows no wear.  1 short, light , surface rub mark on Side A. This does not affect the sound.  The record appear to have been played only 2 or 3 times with care. On Side A, Track 1 has 1 click and 1 faint click on Track 6. On Side B, there is 1 faint click on Tracks 2 and 1 faint click on Track 5. There is no noise on the balance of the record.  Fine, collectable condition.
