Description
Assembled by Captain Sensible while The Damned were in hiatus in 1978, the band King played the BBC’s John Peel show on July 11, 1978. The four songs they performed on the Peel Sessions eventually made it to red vinyl, in the form of this 10" record (released by Kray Collision (and/or Weizenheimer?) in 2004 as KCEP 002.
This is a really good record that makes me wish King had lasted longer and released a proper album. In any case, I hope that Henry Badowski is doing well these days, wherever he may be. (If you want to hear sound samples, get on YouTube and search for “Captain Sensible” AND “King”)
According to Discogs, this EP was released in a limited edition of 1000. The sound quality is good, are there are no scratches on either side of the record. I will, however, warn you that I heard audible pops here and there when I was listening earlier -- but that’s the nature of vinyl. I suspect the surface noise I heard was present from the moment this record was pressed.
