For twelve years the DIXON FAMILY GOSPEL SINGERS have brought happiness and inspiration to thousands everywhere with their message in song taken from the Bible. They pay tribute to their many West Virginia friends, who have stood so faithfully by them with their prayers and help when it was needed most. The DIXON FAMILY GOSPEL SINGERS would especially like to dedicate this, their first, long-play album to Rev. and Mrs. Roy Baldwin of Square, West Virginia; Rev. McPeak of Vivian, West Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Painter of War, West Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. Mack Painter of Welch, West Virginia; and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Trump of Kimball, West Virginia. Since it would be impossible to list everyone, they just say, “We dedi- cate this album to all of our friends everywhere we have ap- peared in Gospel concerts.” They spend so much time traveling and singing the Gospel that their days at home are few, but this is their first love. When they are at home the music doesn’t end. The Gospel tones ring throughout their peaceful valley. They have a full country Gospel band and compose many of their own songs, such as “All Aboard The Glory Train”, composed by their daughter, Linda. You’ll hear Linda play her electric Fender Jazz Bass. Also on this album you’ll hear Jerome, their only son, play his electric steel, electric mandolin, and lead guitar. He is a very talented young man. Brenda, their oldest daughter, will be playing drums as well as singing the lead part with the group. You’ll hear the song, "Orphan Child,” composed by Dad Dixon. He does an excellent job on his recitation. Mother Dixon can play any instrument that has strings. She has certainly reared a talented family. This family sincerely dedicate their lives to God and hope to win lost souls for him. Being an humble servant of God and spreading the Gospel is their greatest desire. SIDE ONE 1.
