Description
I am a long time record collector that has decided to sell some of my records. I've been buying records on-line since 2001 and know that conditions are everything. To adress that issue, I am grading these records in a strict and simple way to make sure no-one will be mislead for better or worse. Even if VG and VG+ are getting unpopular amongst collectors (sellers use EX- or VG++ instead to make it feel better), I do like to use them since they give a wider scope for expressing conditions. Please get to know the information related to auction guidelines, postage costs and conditions below. Thank you!
These are the last records I will be listing. I want to thank all bidders for your support. It has been a laborious but a very fun 3 weeks!
B.B. King - Live At The Regal - His Masters Voice CLP 1870 - UK 1965
Original UK pressing on dark pink Pye labels and flipback sleeve. Disc is nice, the only issue is the stain on the back side (see photo). Will grade it to VG+ because of that. Disc is in great condition despite the few light scratches. Generally the wax shines very nicely and there's basically no notable wear on the grooves. The excellent playback underlines that statement.

Auction guidelines for an easy and pleasent transaction: - Items (one or several items) exceeding £40 of value, will be shipped recorded. In such a case, I will charge the normal shipping and pay the extra service by myself (since it is a service I demand). - I do NOT profit on postage and I use only recycled packaging material so it costs nothing either. You only pay for the item itself and what it costs to deliver it to you. Period. - Please wait for my invoice before paying and you are welcome to let me know as soon as possible if you want to use the Economy delivery method. - Records are graded VERY strictly to ensure that customers will be pleased when they see the records. I rather get a few 'quids' less than spending unhealthy time arguing with unhappy customers. - If you for any reason would want to return any item, that is perfectly fine. Please do that within 14 days though. No questions asked! - I accept PayPal and bank transfer within EU as the methods of payment. For EU citizens, that has Euros as the currency, that choose to use IBAN transfer, I will give a 4% relief from the total value.
- Items are graded under a 100W lightbulb so everything is seen and noted when graded.
- I do not use buzzwords or describe items overly excited. Do not get fooled into assuming that my records wouldn't be just as good, even if the usual RARE!!! MEGARARE!!! STUNNING!!!! AWESOME!!! is missing from my descriptions.
- I guarantee good and friendly customer service.
- I expect payments to be received within 4 weeks.
Estimated postage per single:
Europe £2.50
Elsewhere £4.50 Estomated postage per 2-3 single: Europe £3.50 Elsewhere £7 Please note that there's always a possibility for a cheaper Economy delivery, which in this case might be useful if customers outside Europe want to buy more than one single. For European customers the difference is so small that it is not feasible to use this this. Estimated rates are:
Elsewhere 2-3 singles £4
Elsewhere 4-6 singles £6
Conditions: My grading is based on the very strict 'old-skool' RC standards. I use M-, EX, VG+, VG and G. Note that I don't use gradings such as NM--, EX- or VG+++. MINT: "The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint." Only unplayed and brand new items will be listed as MINT. MINT- will be used for discs that are still in 'as new' condition, but may have been played few times. Needless to say, 30-40 year old discs will very rarely be in this condition.
EXCELLENT: "The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing". Records are virtually unmarked and have only very little wear. Records graded as EX are very nice indeed. Generally, this is the highest grade I give to a used record.
VERY GOOD+: VG+ is an area somewhere between VG and EX. Records graded VG+ will still be clean, but under a strong lamp you may notice few very light hairlines or bagrash on the disc and light wear and tear on the sleeve. The marks will have NO affect on playback, which is still great. With my 6 years of buying experience through the net, records like these are very commonly graded as EX, EX+ (or even NM in some weird cases)!
VERY GOOD: "The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable." Records graded as VG are still acceptable and enjoyable (looks and plays nice). You can see that the disc has been played and held, but still no big issues at all. Will play very well.
GOOD: "The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc." Sounds bad, but in reality it is still the music that sounds above any issue.
