THE KINKS: FACE TO FACE Reprise R-6184 original 1st press mono 'steamboat' tri-colour label - unique US version
By1965 mono LPs increasinglyin the USA had been started to be phased out as stereo had gained significant traction and preference by the record buying public, therefore mono LPs were produced in lower numbers to their stereo counterparts and far harder find, particulary in the condition offered here. 'Steamboat' Reprise tri-colour original label releases are becoming increasingly hard to find.
This LP is excellent overall condition. US LPs because of their type of manufacture - pasted slicks on thick card stock and often did not wear well this copy this copy bucks the trend and is great condition for a near 60 year old LP. The LP includes the original Reprise inner sleeve advertising other acts on the label.
The sleeve front and rear sleeve exhibits the lightest of wear and there is a neat steel ring punch in the top left Other than that sleeve exhibits no major defects and is strong and is graded Ex.
The LP has been graded visually under a strong light and retains a deep shine and lustre (which makes it hard to photograph - note: the lines you see are not defects, but are reflections) there is a faint mark across track 2&3 on side one (hard to spot) of play as such it is graded Ex. Please study the pictures as they form part of the description. I also believe I grade conservatively and err on the side safety if in doubt.
