The British Invasion band, The Kinks, were formed in 1964 by brothers Ray and Dave Davies. They are recognized as one of the most influential rock acts of the era with influences from rhythm & blues to folk to country to British music hall.
Released in 1978, Misfits contains the US Top 40 hit "A Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy". Following this release, Andy Pyle and John Gosling left the group to work on a separate project.
