 -Artist/Group: Kiss

-Mini bio: Hard-rock group formed in New York City, New York: Gene Simmons (bass; born on Aug. 25, 1949), Paul Stanley (guitar; born on Jan. 20, 1950), Ace Frehley (lead guitar; born on April 27, 1951) and Peter Criss (drums; born on Dec. 20, 1947). All shared vocals. Noted for elaborate makeup and highly theatrical stage shows; Simmons was made up as "The Bat Lizard", Stanley as "Star Child", Frehley as "Space Man" and Criss as "The Cat". Criss replaced by Eric Carr in 1981. Frehley replaced by Vinnie Vincent in 1982. Group appeared without makeup for the first time in 1983 on the album cover "Lick It Up". Mark St. John replaced Vincent in 1984. Bruce Kulick, brother of Bob Kulick of Balance, replaced St. John in 1985. Carr died of cancer on Nov. 25, 1991, age 41. Drummer Eric Singer joined in 1991. Original members reunited in 1996.

-Titles: I Love It Loud / Danger

-Kiss' I Love It Loud / Danger was one of only two Casablanca 45 RPM releases issued with picture sleeves in both Canada and the U.S. The other Kiss picture sleeve issued on Casablanca was for Flaming Youth / God Of Thunder from 1976. 

-I Love It Loud / Danger did not chart, was sold in small numbers and is a very difficult sleeve to come by today, especially the Canadian pressing which would have seen a distribution about 10% the size of the American pressing.

-Occasionally, we come across a single record or group of records which are NOS (unplayed, new old store stock). The chances of any record released in the 1940's, 1950's or 1960's which has managed to escape ever having felt a needle in it's grooves is remote, but does happen. This is one such record. -Record grading:

(M) Mint: We don't use this grade as no record is perfect, even SS records can have tiny flaws.

(SS) Still sealed: Still sealed in the factory shrink wrap.

(M-) Mint minus: A nearly perfect record. The record will show no obvious signs of wear. Original finish intact. Picture sleeves should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling.

(VG+) Very good plus: The record will show some signs that it was played or otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffsor light scratches. Picture sleeves may have some slight ring wear, lightly turned up corners, or a small seam split.

(VG) Very good: Many of the defects found in a VG+ record or sleeve will be more pronounced in a VG record or picture sleeve. Groove wear may be noticeable, the record may have light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound, but the foreign noises will be less prominent than the music. Picture sleeves may have quite prominent ring wear. Creases, folds, seam splits and tears will be more obvious and may appear on all three sides, and there may be writing as well.

(VG-) Very good minus: Foreign noises may be about as prominent as the music. The record still plays through without skipping. The picture sleeve will have more significant seam splits, perhaps to the point where they were taped closed, and highly obvious ring wear and heavier writing. Can serve as a filler until a better one comes along.

(G) Good: We seldom offer a good record for sale unless it is particularily rare for the following reasons: Foreign noises are louder than the recorded music and listening can be distracted by the noise. May or may not play through without skipping, but should be so noted. Picture sleeves are so badly seam split that they may not be able to contain the record within.Tears, folds, writing and ring wear may be overwheming.
