Original 1st US Casablanca Records release of Kiss’ 2nd concert album “Alive II” released on October 14, 1977. The currently listed copy represents one of the most collectible “KISS” records. The extremely rare promotional gatefold cover of this copy contains a misprint on the back indicating the “Take Me”, “Hooligan” and “Do You Love Me” tracks which aren’t present on the album as well as 7 songs credit numbers as oppose to 6 present on the back cover of the standard commercial issue. The cover in the fully intact original factory shrink wrap with an original promotional hype sticker reading “Special 2 Record Set includes 5 new songs ‘The Evolution of Kiss’ book and 1 more surprise NBLP 7076 Printed in U.S.A.” and comes with a fully complete set of promotional memorabilia featuring:

-   An 8-page “The Evolution of Kiss” color booklet

- A merchandise “Kiss Army Wants You” order form

-A Kiss tattoos insert with the application instructions

- 2 custom “Kiss Gold and Platinum” inner sleeves with the Kiss Army Headquarters address at the bottom on the front and the adverts of the band’s previous albums on the back. 1st US Columbia Records, Terre Haute, IN pressing vinyl with the full matrix numbers being as follows:

The runout groove of all of the sides contains a machine stamped “STERLING” indicating that the vinyl was mastered by the New York based Sterling Sound company.

It's extremely hard to find a cover of “Alive II” in a good shape, not to mention the fact that this is the rarest misprint cover that still remains in the original fully intact shrink wrap. This is a beautiful very clean example which doesn’t have any splits, ring, wear, writing, residue or ring wear with only the shrink wrap having some very light age shelf wear. The thick rigid spine doesn’t have any scuffs containing a fully readable text. We grade the vinyl as:

Side 1 – Strong Very Good Plus

Side 2 – Very Good Plus

Side 3 – Very Good Plus

Side 4 – Strong Very Good Plus

The vinyl retains its beautiful factory gloss only having a few very light non-feelable surface hairlines as well as scuffs from the original inner sleeves which are in Near Mint condition without having any splits or tears. The Side 2 vinyl has a one and a half inch hairline that can slightly be felt with a finger nail but doesn’t affect the playback. The labels are very clean and in Near Mint condition, scuff- and wear-free, only having just a couple of super light spindle marks that can be seen only under a strong light. All of the original memorabilia are in great vintage condition. The vinyl sounds great with just some very light occasional static which most likely will go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
