This fascinating 2-LP gatefold set from Melodiya (C10 21837 008 / C10 21839 002, Russian pressing, red/black label, stereo) captures a legendary concert in which given at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory on 27 March 1984 in which Evgeni Kissin – then aged 12 – played both Chopin Concertos “live” in concert with conductor Dmitri Kitaenko and the Moscow Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra to rapturous acclaim and international attention.
On this celebrated occasion, the young Kissin also played 3 encores, listed below.

These recordings were produced / engineered by Piotr Kondrashin. There are insightful liner notes on the interior panels of the gatefold jacket by E. Lieberman, provided in Russian and English. The jacket design was executed by V. Ivanov. The memorable cover photo of Kissin is uncredited.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the glossy, laminated gatefold jacket is EXCELLENT. There is some shelfwear, but really that is all. There are no seamsplits, owners' markings, bends, or other defects, and the whole remains solid, bright, glossy, and attractive – overall, an excellent collector's copy.
The condition of the 2 LPs is near-MINT throughout and playback is superb in both – overall, these rate as truly fine collector's copies.
PLEASE NOTE:
This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
