Beethoven: Symphony No. 2 in D major
"Coriolan" and "Prometheus" Overtures
(Columbia SAX 2331 UK LP 1960)
This is a UK Stereo 1st pressing LP in very nice overall condition! The vinyl looks to be near unplayed! It has a heavyweight front laminated flipback sleeve which has a gold circular EMI "Stereophonic" sticker on the front. It has its original generic polythene-lined "Emitex" company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has turquoise blue & silver "Columbia" labels. These are grooved also. It has 1st press YAX 360-10 and YAX 361-2 matrix numbers.
This is a genuine UK Stereo 1st pressing of this early 1960's UK Classical LP. This is the very earliest UK pressing with grooved labels. "EMI" stopped this is 1960. All subsequent UK pressings have a smooth label design & are not grooved. In very nice overall condition too! Sleeve: There is some more moderate rubbing wear on the bottom two corner tips. This has caused an extremely small 0.3 cm seam split at the bottom corner tip area - at the sleeve opening. There is some mild or very mild rubbing wear to the other two corner tips. There is mild, very mild or more moderate rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges on some areas. There is mild to more moderate fading to the "white" of the rear sleeve. There is a 3 cm hairline area of light rubbing wear on the spine. This runs through a small portion of the spine text. There is a 5 cm area of mild hairline rubbing wear on the rear spine edge. This is at the centre area. This is not too noticeable. Otherwise, the spine is quite nice & clean. The spine text is completely legible. There is some light, very mild or very minor ringwear on some areas. Overall, Very Good condition.
Vinyl: The vinyl appears to be near unplayed! It still gleams like new! There are a very few light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can barely be seen under a strong light. EXCELLENT+ condition. The labels are in Near Mint condition and show next to no spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & fading. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety & it plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall, & Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some places. This is only really noticeable in the quieter places. It never overpowers the music.
This LP would definitely benefit from a deep down groove clean in a professional record cleaning machine. Any crackle is just due to microscopic deep down dirt in the grooves. This has happened over years of storage. As stated, the vinyl appears to be hardly played. It still gleams like new. It would, I believe, be a top audio copy after a professional clean. It would remove any crackle.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this.
NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.
EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...
NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing,ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.
VG Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!

The dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment. I always remove the inner/ LP from the sleeve & place them, with the sleeve, in a polythene outer sleeve. This will prevent seam splits to the sleeve during the shipping process. I often remove the vinyl from the original inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your records.
