Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 in C minor
"King Stephen" Overture
(Columbia SAX 2373 UK LP 1960)
This is a UK Stereo 1st pressing LP in great overall condition! The vinyl looks to be hardly played! This LP has a heavyweight front laminated flipback sleeve which has a gold circular EMI "Stereophonic" sticker on the front. It has its original generic polythene-lined "EMI" company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has turquoise blue & silver "Columbia" labels. These are smooth & not grooved. It has 1st press YAX 457-5 and YAX 458-7 matrix numbers.
This is a genuine UK Stereo 1st pressing of this early 1960's UK Classical LP. In great overall condition too! I have some other rare & collectable 1950's & 1960's Stereo UK 1st pressing LP's for sale. Including several other "Klemperer" Brahms & Beethoven LP's. Please see my other listings.
Sleeve: There is light, mild or more moderate rubbing wear on the corner tips. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges on some areas. This is not too noticeable. There is light, very mild or very minor rubbing wear to the laminate on the bottom edge on some areas. This, again, is not too noticeable. There is a small 1.5 cm area of mild rubbing wear at the very bottom of the spine. This has caused some very mild staining in that area too. Otherwise, the spine is in Excellent overall condition. There is some light, very mild or very minor ringwear on a few areas. Overall, Very Good++ condition.
Vinyl: The vinyl appears to be hardly played! It still gleams like new! There are a few light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can barely be seen under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on a few areas. These, again, can barely be seen under a strong light. EXCELLENT+ condition. The labels are in Near Mint condition and show next to no spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety & it plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall, & Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some places. There are a few intermittent light clicks midway through Side 2. There are a few areas of more moderate crackle toward the very end of Side 1. These do not last too long.
This LP would definitely benefit from a deep down groove clean in a professional record cleaning machine. Any crackle is just due to microscopic deep down dirt in the grooves. This has happened over years of storage. As stated, the vinyl appears to be hardly played. It still gleams like new. It would, I believe, be a top audio copy after a professional clean. It would remove any crackle and clicks.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this.
NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.
EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...
NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing,ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.
VG Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!

All records will be sent in high quality packaging. All records will be extremely carefully & securely packaged to ensure safe arrival to you. The dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment. I always remove the inner/ LP from the sleeve & place them, with the sleeve, in a polythene outer sleeve. This will prevent seam splits to the sleeve during the shipping process. I often remove the vinyl from the original inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your records.
