This is a UK Stereo 1st pressing LP in great overall condition! It has a fully laminated flipback sleeve which has a gold circular "Stereophonic" sticker on the front. There is a flipback at the top & bottom of the rear sleeve. They have a die-cut rounded centre area. The sleeve has a thin spine which has a factory "pinched" top & bottom area. It has its original generic polythene-lined "Emitex" company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has turquoise blue & silver "Columbia" labels. These are grooved also. It has 1st press YAX 24-13 and YAX 25-3 matrix numbers. 

This is a genuine UK Stereo 1st pressing of this late 1950's UK Classical LP. Only the very 1st UK Stereo pressings had a fully laminated sleeve. This, I believe, changed to be only a front laminated sleeve on all subsequent UK pressings. Therefore, these are quite rare. Sleeve: There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is a mild, but quite long, 15 cm laminate crease on the front sleeve (see photo). This starts from the top spine area. It is not too noticeable overall. There is also a mild 9 cm crease at the top & bottom sleeve opening areas. This is more noticeable on the front, and has causes some light or very mild laminate lifting in those areas. There are a couple of tiny pin-head sized stains, & bits of rubbing wear, near the bottom of the spine. Otherwise, the spine is very nice & clean overall. The spine text is perfectly legible. There is light, mild or more moderate ringwear on some areas. Overall, Very Good++ condition. These early UK "SAX" sleeves are delicate and are quite susceptible to wear. This copy is nice & clean overall. It is not far from being in Near Excellent condition.

Vinyl: The vinyl looks to hardly played! It still gleams like new! There are a very few light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can hardly be seen under a strong light. EXCELLENT+ condition. The labels are in Near Mint condition and show next to no spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in Near Excellent condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & fading. There are no seam splits.

I have play tested this LP in its entirety. Side 1 plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall, & Excellent in some places. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in the background to a varying degree. This is only noticeable in the quieter places & it never overpowers the music. Side 2 plays Near Excellent to Excellent overall & Excellent+ in some places. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in some places.

This LP would definitely benefit from a deep down groove clean in a professional record cleaning machine.  Any crackle is just due to microscopic deep down dirt in the grooves. This has happened over years of storage. As stated, the vinyl appears to be hardly played. It still gleams like new. It would, I believe, be a top audio copy after a professional clean. It would remove any crackle.

    >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this. 

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.

EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...

NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing,ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

VG Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!

I always remove the inner/ LP from the sleeve & place them, with the sleeve, in a polythene outer sleeve. This will prevent seam splits to the sleeve during the shipping process. I often remove the vinyl from the original inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your records.
