Mahler: Symphony No. 9
(Columbia SAX 5281 and SAX 5282 UK 2 x LP 1967)
This is a UK Stereo 1st pressing 2 x LP set in excellent overall condition! These are quite rare. I have fully listed & graded both LP's carefully. This includes a thorough playback description too. Please see below:
1. Mahler: Symphony No. 9 (LP 1) (SAX 5281 UK LP 1967)
UK 1st pressing. It has a heavyweight front laminated flipback sleeve. It has its original polythene-lined generic company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has red "semi-circle" Columbia labels. These have "The Gramophone Co..." and "Sold in UK..." texts. The record has 1st press YAX 3357-4 and YAX 3358-4 matrix numbers.
Sleeve: There is a very small 1 cm tear on the front sleeve opening edge (see photo). This is at the centre area. There is some light, mild or very mild foxing at the front sleeve opening edge only. This is not that noticeable. There is light, very mild or very minor rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some very minor fading to the "white" of the rear sleeve. The spine is in fantastic condition & shows next to no wear. There is a 4 cm mild laminate crease on the front sleeve. There is some light, very mild or very minor ringwear on a few areas. Very Good++ condition.
Vinyl: There are a few light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. These are mainly on Side 2. Side 1 is in Excellent+ condition. Side 2 is in Near Excellent condition. Overall, Very NEAR EXCELLENT condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition and show minimal spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in Near Excellent condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety & it plays Near Excellent to Excellent overall, & Excellent+ in some places. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in a few places. There is some mild to more moderate crackle toward the very end of both sides.
2. Mahler: Symphony No. 9 (LP 2) (SAX 5282 UK LP 1967)
UK 1st pressing. It has a heavyweight front laminated flipback sleeve. It has its original polythene-lined generic company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has red "semi-circle" Columbia labels. These have "The Gramophone Co..." and "Sold in UK..." texts. The record has 1st press YAX 3359-2 and YAX 3360-3 matrix numbers.

The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on a few areas. These can hardly be seen under a strong light. EXCELLENT condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition and show minimal spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & creasing. There are no seam splits.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this.
NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.
EXCELLENT Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...
NEAR EXCELLENT Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing,ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.
Very Good Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!

All records will be sent in high quality packaging. All records will be extremely carefully & securely packaged to ensure safe arrival to you. The dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment. I always remove the inner/ LP from the sleeve & place them, with the sleeve, in a polythene outer sleeve. This will prevent seam splits to the sleeve during the shipping process. I often remove the vinyl from the original inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your records.
