Description
Your chance to own a rare, NM (vinyl) condition, original, 1st UK pressing of this utterly superb rendition - I have played it once in full to ensure there are no issues with playback: there are none, except a little background noise as may be expected from classic, vintage, top end, pieces such as these.
Prior to me playing to ensure top quality, I examined all vinyl under magnification, and I could see no evidence of it having been played previously - no run out/dead-wax marks, or centre hole wear. This leads me to believe that the LP`s may have never been played before my 1x test play.
I`m also including as part of this this auction the mono disc, `Klemperer conducts more Wagner`, 33CX 1820. See pic 12. This is a 2nd pressing, on Columbia Magic Notes, semi-circle. Disc is NM and again looks unplayed, cover is EX.
So for clarity, this auction is for 3x discs & covers.
My (careful) test play was on a Trio LO-7D, PU-7, Grasshopper Gold, & other top ancilliaries.
I personally am not a big classical fan, but have to say was bowled over by the life, energy, clarity and air/space delivered by these discs - these all valve recorded & cut pressings make just about everything today sound dull, lifeless & compressed (sadly).
Inners are all original, as are covers. I`d rate the covers at a conservative EX, as these LP`s have been in safe storage, but obviously the covers have had a little wear - please see pics of the covers for more detail.
I`m auctioning quite a large collection of classical vinyl on behalf of family - this activity has been entrusted to me because I`m "into hi-fi".
My uncle was a very pernickety person, and always sought the best, so this is of course a very early 1st UK pressing... as are many others to follow...
Please `watch me` if you`re a top end, rare, classical vinyl fan - I have many gems to auction over the next few weeks & am working my way through the storage boxes.
