A genius soundtrack by Michael Small – not really a household name in the soundtrack business, but a composer we've always loved for this early 70s masterpiece! The music is an amazing mix of spare stripped-down instrumental passages, plus heavier, fuzzier, funked-up ones – all nicely offset to match the incredible mood and style of the original film! Some tracks have an eerie disembodied voice running through them, while cool keyboards and basslines throb underneath – others are more straight-ahead groovy, with a heavier drum sound that's right on the cusp of mellow soundtrack funk. The whole thing's great – a real standout that's finally getting its due – and tracks include "Bree's Abandon", "Rooftop Intruder", "The Tape", "Checking Leads", "Lounge Music", "Club Scene", "The Watcher", "Cable's End", and "Leaving The City".
