Description

This is VERY close to a complete set of all of the record store hand-out advertisements for Man's Ruin Records. To have them all, well that makes them pretty special. Now consider that every single one of them is a first generation copy! THAT is what makes them REALLY special. I doubt there are more than one or two other surviving first generation sets anywhere. Occasionally there have been some of these surfacing here and there, but rarely sets, if ever, and certainly never first generation copies that were individually compiled and corrullated by a former Man's Ruin employee, which was no small task because they weren't all released at the same time. It's not like they had 150 separate stacks of pages just sitting on some gigantic table the size of a gymnasium just sitting there all of the time for anyone to walk up and form a set, one page at a time, stack after stack as needed. The flyers were created throughout the life of the company as the bands were signed and the records were made so it was a gradual deal. Always having to remember to put one aside wouldn't have been easy. These ARE the very same ones given out to the record store owners to promote the releases of the 10" Man's Ruin EP's. Made on the same Man's Ruin printers as the rest of the hand-outs. Once the records were released to the retailers there was no need to make more flyers.
I just noticed that unfortunately there are two missing. As far as I can tell, they are the Desert Sessions 4 and 6. Why you ask? You want to know why they are missing?? Simply put, it's because.. ...because.
Well, there are bigger tragedies in life I suppose.. Like for example the more obscure ones. Seriously, who saved a copy of Mens Club for posterity? Anyone? Anyone?? ...and all the other crap like that.. Actually Man's Ruin really didn't release any crap. It really was all GOOD shit! Even Mens Club was good. There are people that have the adverts for Desert Sessions 4 and 6 so do not despair. Now if the first gen copies for QOTSA, Kyuss, Electric Wizard, Orange Goblin, Fu Manchu, missing any one of those would be tragic. Other than des sess 4 and 6, they're all here but I'll go through them tomorrow to make sure. Please DO NOT expect there to be a flyer for every Man's Ruin release. There was not. There are a LOT of them though. I never thought to count them but as you can see from the picture where I'm showing the side of the stack, it's about 1/3 of a reem, maybe more.
