THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION
This is the super-rare original yellow overlapping diagonal globes label pressing of the Marvelettes "Playboy" on Tamla 231 released in 1962. Tamla was experimanting on designs for their yellow labels, as when this LP was released, they were phasing out the white labels. There is also a rare promotional sticker advertising the hit single "Beechwood 4-5789." Very few Motown LP's had a promotional sticker. Some guide books list this as the rarest pressing of this LP. When you bid, ask yourself when you will find another in this condition, if at all!!
This is arguably the Marvelettes best album with such hits as, "Beechwood 4-5789," "Playboy," "Forever" and "Someday-Someway. This is a must have for the Motown and/or Girl Group collector!
VINYL
With full & very shiny gloss and great mono fidelity, This LP grades EX+ with a couple very light surface scuffs on each side that do not affect play! No scratches!! Vinyl plays Near Mint!
COVER
With vibrant colors and little age discoloration is EX with some very minor seam and ring wear, and a crease on lower righthand corner.
This LP is difficult to find in any condition, so don't let this very rare original gem at a low starting bid and no reserve pass you by (keep in mind that this LP books for $500)!! I am a conservative careful grader (check my feedback) who guarantees (for 14 days after auction is over) everything I sell.
